Hiking Trail Description
The Park lies about 75 km north of Port Elizabeth. When travelling from Port Elizabeth to Grahamstown, take the left hand turn to Addo some 10 km outside Port Elizabeth. The right hand turn to the Park is some 10 km beyond Addo, just past Coerney Station.
Duration:
A guide, with a special licence, takes visitors on walks in the elephant area of the Park. The walk over the Korhaan Vlakte is about two hours long. Armed rangers accompany parties. Visitors are able to study the unique plant life and see animal life not normally seen from vehicles. The four-hour Spekboom Trail, designed for nature lovers and botanists, lies inside a fenced-off botanical reserve.
Tourist accommodation consists of two luxury six-bed family cottages, 24 chalets sleeping four and six two-bed units, all self-catering. There is a caravan and camping area with an ablution block, as well as communal cooking facilities and power points. Day visitors may use the picnic area. The restaurant serves à la carte meals.
The Park is open from 7h00 to 19h00 throughout the year. December and January are the busiest months.
