Hiking Trail Description

A section of the Kap River and associated Valley Thicket vegetation is protected in this 670 ha reserve. The southern, eastern and western boundaries are formed by the Indian Ocean, Great Fish River and Kap River respectively. There is a variety of game (zebra, red hartebeest, impala, duiker, bushbuck) and bird life. The trail provides access to the Kap River Forest and Fish River Flood Plain. The canoe trail up the Kap River is a wonderful experience.

Amenities: Xhosa Hut on the banks of the Fish River sleeps four. Bush camps and guest lodge (sleeps 10) with swimming pool, picnic and angling sites and fisherman’s cottage overlooking Fish River.
